Leeds United news: Whites told how to handle Arsenal and Man City amid Raphinha and Phillips bids

Simon Jordan gives Leeds United Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips transfer negotiation advice

Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has offered Leeds United his two cents on how the White should handle the transfer negotiations of star players Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips.

Manchester City and PSG have been mooted as destinations for Phillips, while Raphinha has been liked with both Barcelona and Arsenal. Leeds have yet to receive any official bids for either player and are believed to want around £50-60m each for the duo.

And Jordan believes the Whites must stand firm in their evaluation of both Raphinha and Phillips to ensure they get the best deal possible for the club. "If Leeds United are going to sell these players to clubs like Man City - who aren’t bigger clubs but bigger in their achievements - then these players are going to want to go there," Jordan said on talkSPORT.

"What you want to achieve is the maximum amount of money. ‘You want our best players, the players that we have cultivated and developed? You’ve got to pay the top money’, so that Leeds United can kick on, regain their poise and regain their development back to the big club that their stature and size details they could and should be.”

Huge Premier League 2 format change as Leeds United youngsters prepare for life in second tier

The Premier League 2 is set to become an under-21s competition. Previously designed for under-23s, the change comes as part of an ongoing review of the Elite Player Performance Plan, which will see clubs able to use up to five overage outfield players.

This will allow for the clubs competing to still be able to name some of their more experienced players when required.

The average age of those playing in the Premier League 2 is 19, meaning the changes to the age limit have been made to reflect those who play in the competition.

Leeds have a number of impressive youngsters in their squad below their first team, and the change should have too much of an impact on the Whites youngsters development.

Elia Caprile set for Leeds United exit with 'agreement in place'

Leeds United youngster Elia Caprile looks set to join Italian Serie B side Bari this summer.

Di Marzio claims Bari have reached an agreement in principle with the Whites for the 20-year-old who helped Pro Patria secure a Serie C play-off spot last season with 13 clean sheets.

Caprile played regularly for the club's under-23s, making 19 appearances during the 2020/21 season and has a year remaining on his current deal at Elland Road.

He never made a first-team appearance for the Whites but was named on the bench on a handful of occasions.
