Leeds United news: Leeds players due back for test as USMNT midfielder backed for Champions League move

Here are your Leeds United morning headlines on Monday, November 28.

Leeds players expected back for testing

The Leeds United players not involved at the World Cup will return to Thorp Arch today for testing ahead of a return to training with the Whites' next Premier League fixture against Manchester City still a month away.

It's been just over a fortnight since Jesse Marsch's side narrowly lost 4-3 at Tottenham and the Leeds head coach had confirmed after the match that the following week would be used for players to rest before individual training programmes were to be sent out the following week.

As well as a return to training, a friendly match against La Liga outfit Real Sociedad at Elland Road is in the diary for December 16 with more matches expected to be arranged before Leeds host the reigning Premier League champions on December 28.

Tyler Adams backed for Champions League return

Leeds United and USMNT midfielder Tyler Adams will join a Champions League club at the end of the season should his impressive performances continue, believes former USA international Stuart Holden.

The 23-year-old has settled at Elland Road brilliantly whilst also receiving plaudits for his displays for the USA at the World Cup, particularly for his man of the match performance against England on Friday.

Adams only joined the Whites this summer from head coach Jesse Marsch's former side RB Leipzig, where he accumulated a total for 14 Champions League appearances, but could attract interest next summer from some of Europe's elite clubs.

Leeds summer target's misfortunes continue

Former Leeds United target Charles De Ketelaere's misfortunes this campaign continued yesterday as his Belgium side were subject to a shock 2-0 defeat at the hands of Morocco at the World Cup.

The attacking midfielder came on as a substitute at 75 minutes for Roberto Martinez's side but couldn't prevent the north African nation scoring two late goals, meaning that the Red Devils must get a result against Croatia to progress to the knockout stages.

The Belgian snubbed a move to Elland Road in favour of AC Milan in the summer, however the 21-year-old has recorded just one assist in 18 appearances for the reigning Serie A champions and reports suggest that the Whites could 'reach out' to Milan to bring the attacking midfielder to Leeds in January.
