Leeds United relegation will bring takeover clarity
Former Crystal Palace owner and talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan believes relegation will bring Leeds United clarity at a boardroom level with 49ers Enterprises expected to complete their takeover at Elland Road. Some reports suggest Andrea Radrizzani and the American organisation are still thrashing out an acceptable price following relegation to the Championship, but a deal is still expected to go through this summer.
When asked about relegation and the takeover, Jordan told talkSPORT: "It might actually be a good thing. Often it's the darkest before dawn and you need this clarity. You cannot have two different agendas in a boardroom working to different mindsets, making decisions that are not handled well or thought through cleverly.
"In this instance they've now got clarity. The team has been relegated and you'll have one set of messages, one set of taskmasters and one set of thinking going on. That will then streamline what their next decisions are.
"If it is Allardyce, and I'm half in the camp that I don't think it has to be Allardyce - but everything runs its course. The fact of the matter is - I think Sam has changed the outlook that he had previously, which was someone that was moderately less than aware of his presence and more inclined to be a football man, rather than a little bit of a soundbite.
"This nonsense that he trotted out before the game against Man City about where he ranks on the food chain of managers in comparison with his knowledge and Pep Guardiola, it showed me a sign of Sam that I didn't think was particularly appetising."

One of the many aspects affected by relegation as Leeds United drop into the Championship will be the long-planned redevelopment of Elland Road. Promotion to the Premier League had always been billed as the key which unlocked the finance needed for such a project, but with the end of the club’s third consecutive year at the top table here, there is still little firm detail or spades in the ground.
The last public comments made came from chairman Andrea Radrizzani. Last August, the owner told The Athletic expansion had always been tied to top-flight security.

“I always said to Angus Kinnear (chief executive), we’ll look at the expansion of the stadium when we’re in the third year of the Premier League,” he said. “The chance to go back in the Championship is very high in the first and second year, but much lower after.
Leeds United's early Championship advantage over Leicester City amid relegation complications
Leeds United could have a significant financial advantage over Leicester City in the Championship next season. Both Leeds and Leicester saw their Premier League relegations confirmed on Sunday, but they came in very different circumstances.
United were pumped 4-1 by Tottenham Hotspur to ensure they went down with a whimper. Leicester, on the other hand, beat West Ham United on the final day, only to be pipped to safety by Everton, who saw off Bournemouth at Goodison Park to end the Foxes’ nine-season stay in the top flight.
Both clubs will now be counting the financial repercussions of relegation and for Leeds it seems they could be set to miss out on around £100m in revenue. The Whites will be buoyed by parachute payments, though, which will soften the blow of arriving back into the Championship, but they may still be forced to sell players in order to cover certain costs and satisfy creditors.
Newly promoted Premier League sides circle Leeds United player after relegation to Championship
Leeds United full-back Cody Drameh looks set to be the subject of plenty of transfer interest in the coming months. The 21-year-old has spent the second half of the season on loan at Luton Town, helping the Hatters to promotion.
Drameh was a regular under Rob Edwards after making the switch to Kenilworth Road in January and featured in the play-off final at Wembley against Coventry on Saturday.
The Hatters won on penalties to book their spot in the Premier League and it is now being reported that the top-flight's newest-promoted side wants to turn his loan into a permanent move.
