A look at the latest Leeds United headlines this evening on Saturday, June 24.
Leeds United managerial appointment to come 'next week'
Football Insider claims Leeds United will make a managerial appointment next week after weeks of talks. The report claims the Whites hierarchy are looking to bring in a manager with Premier League experience despite their relegation from the top flight.
Players are just a few days away from a return to training and no decision has been made on a successor to Sam Allardyce. Daniel Farke and Patrick Vieira have been linked with a move to Elland Road this summer, with the former of the two said to be in the driving seat.

Farke has two promotions from the Championship on his CV with Norwich City and has help talks with the Leeds United board. The Whites are just over two weeks away from their first warm-up game of pre-season, a clash with Manchester United on July 12 in Norway.
Why Leeds United are at least 23 days late with their summer transfer benchmark
Within four days of securing 2022’s Premier League survival, Leeds United were announcing the permanent transfer of Brenden Aaronson. The Whites moved quickly to push through a £24.7m deal they had effectively lined up in the previous January.
It was a prime example of forward planning which was good to go as soon as top-flight status was secure. There was little prospect of a change of ownership at the top of the club, director of football Victor Orta, who engineered the deal, remained in place and head coach Jesse Marsch was only just getting started.
It was a club which had come through a traumatic experience and retained all of its key components for a summer of continuity targeted at righting wrongs. Time has since taught us Andrea Radrizzani and his key personnel did not get that summer right, with relegation confirmed one year and two days after the Aaronson announcement.
Rasmus Kristensen would not follow much later. By June 8, 17 days after the Brentford drama, the Dane would also be confirmed as a Whites addition from Red Bull Salzburg.
Embracing new beginnings can save Leeds United millions as Championship rebuild gathers pace
Leeds United begin pre-season training in one week and there’s still so much that needs to be done before they’re ready for the new season. Acquiring a new head coach is clearly top of the list and the club will hope to be in a position to make an appointment in the coming days.
It’s not just the fans watching on eagerly, though. The players will be keeping a keen eye on developments in the Elland Road dugout as they prepare to return to Thorp Arch and begin preparing for the start of the Championship campaign.
The new head coach means a clean slate and a number of Leeds United players will be hoping to make the most of their fresh starts in order to get careers back on track. Here’s five such Whites stars we have picked out.
Roma 'pushing to sign' second Leeds United player with green light given
Serie A outfit AS Roma are pushing to sign Leeds United right-back Rasmus Kristensen this summer. That’s according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, who claims Kristensen has already expressed his desire to make the move to the Italian capital.
The report says the deal would be a loan, with Roma hoping to land the Denmark international over the next few days. It is understood that Kristensen voiced his intention to stay at Elland Road this summer following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
But, the opportunity to link up with Jose Mourinho’s Europa League finalists and continue his career in the top flight would more than likely be a tempting proposition for any player. The report states that Roma had an interest in Kristensen last summer before his move from Red Bull Salzburg to Leeds and they have chosen to rekindle their interest in him this time around.
