'Men at war' Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie slammed by USMNT icon Eric Wynalda
USMNT icon Eric Wynalda has ripped into Leeds United midfield duo Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie, claiming they've been taking out their frustrations over the club's relegation battle on their opponents by 'fighting them'.
The American pair have been involved in numerous incidents over the past few weeks against Everton, Chelsea and Southampton which saw shoving and pushing lead to whole-team arguments.
"Tyler Adams is in a tough spot," Wynalda told The Action Network's Wondergoal Podcast earlier this week. "He seems to be a man at war. There hasn’t been a game where we haven’t seen him start and get into a shouting or shoving match with his opponents.
"If he isn’t the one to start the fight he might be coming to the rescue for his American counterpart Weston McKennie who has chosen a similar approach to address this relegation battle.
"His play has been good at times, never spectacular. The talk about him moving to a bigger club was complete smoke and mirrors from agents trying to paint a better picture for a potential move.
"If things continue this way however this will be a forced sale and a lateral move within the league - not a big jump up."
Javi Gracia highlights 'unbelievable' Leeds United supporters importance ahead of Brighton clash
Leeds United manager Javi Gracia has claimed his side 'needs' the Elland Road supporters to turn the stadium into a fortress ahead of this weekend's clash against Brighton.
The Whites have conjured up 16 of their 22 points so far this season at home, and supporters will be desperate for another big three points when Roberto De Zerbi's side comes to town on Saturday.
And the Spaniard acknowledged their feelings, claiming that it's always much easier to play in front of your own fans because they can make the difference between winning and losing.
Leeds United's training ground focus outlined as Javi Gracia moves to solve pressing issue
As he travelled back from west London last weekend, Javi Gracia had a firm idea of what he needed to focus on this week in training. Of course, there are plenty of things Gracia needs to improve if he is to make his mark at Leeds United, but finishing will have been the word he circled over and over again during his video analysis of the fixture against Chelsea and the FA Cup clash at Fulham a few days prior, too.
Leeds found Chelsea to be a tough nut to crack at Stamford Bridge and they struggled to create the same amount of chances they did at Craven Cottage. Opportunities still fell their way against the Blues, but Leeds allowed them to fall by the wayside as they lacked the clinical edge required.
Struggling to score is not a new problem for Leeds, who have failed to find the net in five of their last seven Premier League outings, but if they are to retain their place in the top flight, it’s one they need to solve and quickly.
