Here are the latest Leeds United morning headlines on Wednesday, 12 October 2022.
Sutcliffe injury
Leeds United U21s defender Harvey Sutcliffe is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury. Sutcliffe picked up the problem during the 1-0 win over Sunderland on Monday, in which he provided the assist for Wilfried Gnonto’s winner.
Given Leeds’ shortage of left backs across both the first team and U21s, Sutcliffe had been doing a solid job filling in that position for Michael Skubala’s team. However, he is now set for several months out of action and wrote this on his Instagram: “Another 3 points, I’m gutted for the injury, the road to recovery starts now.”
King
Leeds United are just one of a number of Premier League clubs reportedly tracking Rangers starlet Leon King. The teenage sensation made his debut for the Gers back in November 2020 and has gone on to become a regular starter under current boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

King, who is a central defender, has made 10 appearances this season, including three in the Champions League against Ajax, Napoli and Liverpool. The promising Scotsman has been linked with a host of Premier League outfits who all seem keen on landing the defender.
And according to football transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Leeds have joined the likes of Manchester United and Newcastle United in sending scouts to Ibrox to monitor the Scotland youth international.

Coronation
Leeds United's May 6 Premier League fixture against Manchester City has been thrown up in the air following the announcement of King Charles' coronation next year.
A statement from Buckingham Palace confirmed Charles III will be crowned on May 6, meaning the Whites clash with City at the Etihad will likely be moved.
The statement read: "Buckingham Palace is pleased to announce that the coronation of His Majesty The King will take place on Saturday 6th May 2023. The coronation ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey, London, and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The ceremony will see His Majesty King Charles III crowned alongside the Queen Consort."
