Adams on US captaincy
Tyler Adams has admitted he harbours ambitions to lead his country out at the World Cup. Previously, the United States have shared the captain's responsibility within the camp.
The Leeds midfielder has worn the armband before, as well as Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic and former Newcastle United defender DeAndre Yedlin.
"We have no idea who the captain is going to be yet," Adams said. "Obviously since Gregg has taken over, it's been a shared responsibility amongs our 'leadership council' and we have a bunch of guys that can wear that armband - we all lead in various ways, of course.
"I've worn it at times and feel very comfortable wearing it, but I have total belief in my other teammates as well if that's a decision that is made."
Warrington backs Marsch
Josh Warrington has urged Leeds United's owners to stick by "entertaining" Jesse Marsch. Pressure had begun to build on the American until dramatic last-gasp results against Liverpool and Bournemouth.
Even in defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, the Whites were involved in a thrilling 4-3 contest and were in front on three occasions. Two-time world champion Warrington has backed Marsch and ruled out a move for Sean Dyche.
"Since Bielsa arrived, the club has been quite united," he said. "There have been one or two times this season the ‘sack the board’ chants have been heard. For me, you need to stick with him (Marsch).

"We are playing entertaining football and we have had a few good results over the last few weeks. Yeah, we lost to Tottenham but I feel we should have come away with something from there.
“I am not all about changing managers very quick. Who are we going to get in, Sean Dyche? No disrespect but I want to watch entertaining football. When you are sat at a freezing Elland Road on a Tuesday night you want to watch something decent.”

Dallas nears return
Stuart Dallas will be counting down the days until he is given the green light to head out on to the field with his teammates once more. The Northern Irishman hasn’t been seen in a Leeds shirt since fracturing his femur in a challenge with Jack Grealish back in April.
He underwent surgery in the days that followed and he has been working his way through a long and arduous recovery process with the Thorp Arch physios ever since. Dallas was pictured running on Leeds’ training ground back in August, a huge sign of progress just a few months after going under the knife and over the last couple of months he has been working to rebuild his fitness and build up his leg strength once more.

James' tribute to late father
Daniel James says he owes his World Cup place to his late father Kevan and will be thinking about him when Wales start their tournament on Monday. James' father Kevan died suddenly at the age of 60 in May 2019, just as the winger was on the verge of joining Manchester United from Swansea in a £15million transfer.
"It's down to him that I'm playing here today," said James, whose father came from Aberdare in the Cynon Valley. "Whenever I pull that Wales shirt on I always think of him.
"He took me to north Wales camp when I was 12 years old. He emailed the person there to say I was eligible to play for Wales. I got picked up at Swansea when I was 15 playing for Wales against Poland. I wouldn't have played that game, and may not have been at Swansea and end up going to a World Cup but for him."

Leeds 'bigger than I thought' - Adams
Adams has also admitted he has been surprised at just how big of a club Leeds United is since his summer arrival at Elland Road. Adams made the switch from Red Bull Leipzig during the window and has slotted into the side seamlessly, establishing himself quickly as a fan favourite.
The 23-year-old has started 13 of Leeds' 14 Premier League matches so far this season and his arrival came just a matter of days after Kalvin Phillips left for Manchester City. On early evidence, Adams has not felt the pressure of coming in to replace Phillips, and has arguably been Leeds' player of the season so far.
He told a pre-World Cup press conference: “When Leeds came calling, I knew a lot about the club through the documentary, and the history of the club. I didn’t completely understand the gratitude of how big the club is. The fans, the culture is a completely different level.”
Adams is now getting ready to represent USA at the World Cup in Qatar in just a few days' time, in what will be his first major tournament at international level. Rather intriguingly, he could be set to go directly up against the aforementioned Phillips when USA face England on Friday, providing both are selected to play.
