Here are the Leeds United morning headlines for Wednesday October 5.
Leeds United summer transfer target reaffirms commitment to Championship club
Leeds United summer transfer target and Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill has reaffirmed his focus is on his own development with the Clarets after rumours of a move away from Turf Moor.
Brownhill only scored twice last season but has flourished under new boss Vincent Kompany, and has doubled that tally already in the Championship this season with four goals and two assists.
A host of Premier League clubs were looking to to acquire his services including the Whites, Southampton, West Ham, Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City.

Speaking to the Burnley Express, Brownhill reiterated his willingness to focus on Burnley and his own development in the Championship.
"You hear of all sorts of things that go round, especially when the transfer window is open, rumours fly around, but for me I think everyone has seen from day one that I've got my head down and worked hard," he said, speaking exclusively to the Burnley Express.
"Whatever happens, happens, but for me I enjoy what we're doing this year and the manager has given me a lot of confidence. It's the football that I want to be playing and for me to be playing at my happiest, at this moment in time, it's at Burnley Football Club."
Leeds United would need to break the habit of a year for Joe Gelhardt to even become a debate
While Sonny Perkins and Mateo Joseph have been gorging themselves on goals week by week, Joe Gelhardt’s transition to the first team has seen him go under the radar. In fact, the 20-year-old only hit his first goals of the season down the road from his family’s house last night.
While Perkins and Joseph are soaking up the under-21 limelight Gelhardt’s already enjoyed for the past two years, he’s in the first team and trying to make a difference on the big stage. A drop down into the under-21s at Tranmere Rovers last night quickly underlined why Gelhardt has moved onwards and upwards already.
And yet the arrival of Wilfried Gnonto followed by Gelhardt’s omission from Sunday’s matchday squad raised a few eyebrows. United’s injury crisis has been so consistently savage for the past 12 months and Gelhardt’s game-changing ability so unique, his name has become a staple on the weekend teamsheet, fitness permitting.
'Very bright' Leeds supporters react to U21s 5-3 win at Tranmere Rovers in EFL Trophy
Joe Gelhardt bagged a brace as Leeds United won 5-3 in an entertaining eight-goal thriller against Tranmere Rovers in the EFL Trophy at Prenton Park.
Tranmere stormed into a two-goal lead inside 19 minutes courtesy of goals from Paul Lewis and Rhys Hughes. Sonny Perkins reduced the deficit with his 13th goal in nine games for club and country in the 26th minute.
Gelhardt scored twice in quick succession to propel Leeds into the lead just after the half-hour mark before Neil Byrne equalised for the hosts on the cusp of half-time.
