Leeds United news as report details what relegation would mean to Radrizzani's long-term plans

Here are your Leeds United headlines on Thursday, May 19.

Radrizzani's plans to sell would 'take a back seat' if Whites suffer relegation

Earlier this season, it was widely reported that Leeds United's majority owner and chairman, Andrea Radrizzani, had an agreement in place to pass the majority shareholding over to 49ers Enterprises this summer. However, it seems that the club's perilous situation regarding the threat of relegation to the Championship may have put a spanner in the works when it comes to that deal.

The Daily Mail reports: "Longer-term projects, such as the expansion of the stadium, may have to be put on the back burner. And plans to sell the club will also take a back seat. Having done the hard work in lifting them out of decades of Football League gloom, Andrea Radrizzani would not be able to command anywhere near the price he would be looking for with the club in the second tier."

Leeds United's best and worst-case final day scenarios as Everton and Burnley play games in hand

Jesse Marsch's side will discover whether they will go into the final day of the Premier League season with their fate in their own hands on Thursday evening, as Everton and Burnley play their penultimate games of the season. The Clarets face Aston Villa in a tricky fixture at Villa Park, whilst Everton will be hopeful of a win against Crystal Palace which would secure their safety for another season.

If Burnley lose to Villa, Leeds will enter the final day knowing that they only have to match the Lancashire side's result against Newcastle in order to stay in the division. Meanwhile, Everton would be catchable if they took no more than a single point in their final two games and the Whites defeat Brentford on the final day. The rest of the permutations are discussed here.

Glenn Hoddle admits Leeds United's relegation plight 'scares' him ahead of crucial fixtures

Former Tottenham Hotspur and England player, turned BT pundit, Glenn Hoddle believes Leeds have the toughest task to avoid relegation, due to the form of Brentford. Meanwhile, he backed Burnley to take 'something' from Aston Villa and Newcastle, perhaps meaning that the Whites would have to take three points against the Bees.

Hoddle said: "I’m scared for Leeds. Brentford are playing so well, a lot of confidence, I just don’t see them winning. Everton have got to beat Palace at home. I think Burnley have got enough to get something out of those two games. If Leeds get the win, then you have to hold your hands up and say ‘wow’."
