Tyler Adams future
Aston Villa are expected to test Leeds United's resolve over midfielder Tyler Adams with a reported £25m bid in the coming weeks. The US international was one of the few successful summer signings for Jesse Marsch, impressing in the first half of the season before injury curtailed his campaign.
Leeds missed the comabtive midfielder as they were relegated from the Premier League, with the 24-year-old now expected to leave Elland Road this summer, one of several big-name players who could be on the way out.
Newcastle and Manchester United have been credited with interest, but reports suggest it's Unai Emery's Villa who will make the first move. Villa have a recent history of getting transfer deals done early in the window, and Adams has been earmarked as a potential signing as Emery looks to take the club to the next stage.
Adams is sure to have plenty of interest this summer, which could drive the price up, meaning Leeds are likely to get more than the £20m they paid for him in 2022.
49ers Enterprises ranking
Leeds United's ownership issues have been an elephant in the room for the majority of the 2022/23 Premier League campaign and that looks set to come to a head this summer. Current Whites' owner Andrea Radrizzani has not hidden his desire to move on from the club, with a takeover at Sampdoria looking likely.
However, Leeds' relegation from the Premier League scuppered immediate plans of a sale this summer. Outgoing boss Sam Allardyce admitted that a deal was ready to complete with an asking price agreed between the two parties, but relegation means 49ers Enterprises are looking for a cheaper deal.
That's somewhat understandable given the immediate loss in revenue as a result of relegation. The 49ers Enterprises already have a 44 per cent stake in the club, which they increased back in November 2021. The latest updates indicate that progress is being made on sealing a deal, which will ensure that the club can move out of their current state of limbo and prepare for the upcoming campaign in earnest.
