Leeds United linked with Moise Kean as they look to bolster front line
According Jeunesfooteux, Leeds United are competing with Newcastle in a battle to sign former Everton striker Moise Kean. The two Premier League outfits have been linked with a £17million move for the Italian forward.
Both clubs are said to be alerted to the fact Juventus will send the 22-year-old back to Goodison Park after an underwhelming loan spell in the Serie A. The Toffees spent in the region of €31million on Kean and are hoping to recoup some of that investment.
Kean has scored just twice in 32 appearances on Merseyside but enjoyed a fruitful loan spell with PSG, scoring 17 goals in 46 appearances, but only managed six goals in 42 games for the Old Lady. The Italian side have an obligation to buy Kean after originally signing a two-year loan deal.
Jesse Marsch says Leeds United 'can cause some havoc' against Chelsea at Elland Road
Leeds head coach Jesse Marsch claims his side "can cause some havoc" in today's home Premier League game against Chelsea. One of English football's fiercest rivalries will be revisited at Elland Road and Marsch feels his new-look squad is capable of springing an ambush.
The American said: "I think we have a team that can cause some havoc against an opponent like this right now. At home, I think we always enjoy playing in Elland Road, I think you can see that in the beginning stages that the team is coming together in a good way.
"We're trying to develop a good plan and a plan that is easy enough for them to execute and then we just want them to go on the pitch and play to their abilities. If we do that, as a group, we have a chance. I think we definitely have a chance."
Full Leeds United squad expected for Chelsea with Patrick Bamford decision to make
Jesse Marsch has a couple of injury doubts heading into Leeds United's clash against Chelsea at Elland Road on Sunday. It's entirely plausible that Marsch could name more or less the same squad that travelled to Southampton last week, but much of that will depend on the decisions made on Patrick Bamford and club captain Liam Cooper.
Both players are doubts for the game against Thomas Tuchel's side, and Leeds are set to make a decision on Saturday as to whether they will be involved. Marsch has said that it's important not to 'risk' Bamford, who was forced off in the draw with Southampton. Both the striker and Cooper have been involved in some elements of training this week, but the defender hasn't been named in a squad all season.
If Bamford does drop out of the squad, then it's likely he will perform a straight swap with Joe Gelhardt, who missed the draw against Southampton. Marsch has confirmed that Gelhardt is fit and available for Sunday's game. Gelhardt will come back into the squad no matter Bamford's situation, and Sam Greenwood, Crysencio Summerville or Leo Hjelde could drop out of the squad to free up space for the 20-year-old striker.
