Here are the latest Leeds United headlines for May 17.
Owen's prediction
Michael Owen has tipped Leeds United and Leicester City to join Southampton in suffering relegation to the Championship. The Whites currently sit one point adrift of safety with two matches remaining ahead of Sunday's trip to West Ham.
Leicester suffered a crushing home defeat to Liverpool on Monday night, with Dean Smith's side the odds-on favourite out of the four sides at risk to go down. Owen believes Everton's favourable fixtures along with Nottingham Forest's current points tally will mean it is too much for Sam Allardyce to claw their way to safety.
He told the Final Word via HITC: “Leicester and Leeds to go down. Leicester will need four points, and that will be a struggle. Leeds; I’m not sure they can do it. Everton have a good run in, Forest have got 34 points already; one more and they’re safe."
Relegation state of play
Life may have been breathed into a Leeds United season heading one way under Javi Gracia, but Sam Allardyce’s greatest enemy may be the beach across the next 11 days. Two points from the last 21 available neatly sum up why a Championship future is out of United’s hands right now, but they at least have the pulse needed to keep their rivals on their toes.
The merits of what could have been against Newcastle United can be discussed until Cody Drameh comes home, but, pre-match, one point looked a highly appetising prospect in a clash with the league’s third-best team. It’s a draw which may prove all the difference come 6.30pm on May 28.
The full weight of the blow Fulham inflicted upon Leicester City is still being felt now. After the failures to take anything from Bournemouth, Leeds and Everton, the Craven Cottage trip was what looked like the last chance for the Foxes before the final day.
Liverpool have, as expected, mowed down Leicester before Dean Smith takes the strugglers to the might of St James’ Park next Monday. We will learn more about West Ham United’s frame of mind on Sunday before they travel to King Power Stadium for the final day.

Survival permutations
Leeds United's path to Premier League safety has plenty of permutations as we head into the final two games of the season. The Whites are a point away from Everton and safety in 17th place, while Nottingham Forest sit three ahead in 16th.
Sam Allardyce and his men take on his former club, West Ham United, on the road next weekend, before a final day showdown at Elland Road against Tottenham Hotspur. Everton are set to play Wolves and Bournemouth, while Forest take on Arsenal and Crystal Palace.
