Here are the latest Leeds United morning headlines on Saturday 5 March 2022.
Richards’ Bielsa view
Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards remains adamant Leeds United’s decision to sack Marcelo Bielsa was incorrect.
Bielsa was relieved of his duties last weekend after over three-and-a-half-years in charge with the Whites sat 16th in the Premier League.
Richards believes Leeds should’ve stuck with Bielsa and feels he would’ve done enough to keep them up.
Writing in the Daily Mail, he said: “The mood around Leeds has changed this week. I know and speak to a lot of Leeds fans and the devastation they feel about Marcelo Bielsa’s sacking is incredible. Not one of them has told me it was the right decision. I’m in full agreement.
“Leeds were naive at times under Bielsa and things needed tweaking defensively to stop the amount of goals they were conceding but I am convinced he would have kept them up and, if not, they could have made a fresh start in the summer.
“I hope Jesse Marsch can keep them in the top flight.”
Predicted line-up
How do you predict the line-up of a head coach's first match, with no friendlies to watch, no meaningful clues in his press conference and a raft of tactical set-ups in his previous jobs - none of which use the wingers he now has an abundance of?
From today we will at least have an idea of what shape he’s looking at.
At RB Leipzig, where it never really went well for Marsch, there were 3-4-3s, 4-4-2 diamonds and a few 4-2-3-1s.

Thomas on Leeds
Luke Thomas has claimed that Leicester City are excited by the challenge of being Jesse Marsch’s first Premier League opponents.
Leeds United travel to the King Power Stadium on Saturday looking for a reaction in their first game since the departure of Marcelo Bielsa.
Speaking in the LCFC Matchday Magazine, he discussed the threat the Whites will pose with a new man in the technical area.
"There’s always a point to prove for a team who gets a new manager in," said the 20-year-old. "It can be a difficult one to approach as well because you don’t know if they will set up in the way they have been, or if the new manager will completely change things around.
"We’re excited by that challenge though, and we’ll be ready for whatever they put up against us."
