Leeds United target Matheus Cunha left out of Atletico Madrid squad
Atletico Madrid forward Matheus Cunha has been left out of Diego Simeone's squad for their Wednesday night friendly against Ponferradina.
Speculation surrounding the Brazilian's future has ramped up over the course of the last week, with Leeds United, Everton, Aston Villa and Wolves all said to be monitoring the 23-year-old's availability.
Cunha looks set to leave the Spanish capital in the upcoming January transfer window, with Leeds reportedly keen on landing the Brazilian who has previously worked under Jesse Marsch.

According to Spanish outlet ElDesmarque, Atletico and Simeone have not selected the Brazilian international for their friendly squad due to fears of him picking up an injury.
That alone seems to strongly suggest Cunha will depart Madrid in the coming weeks, with his currently club keen to not jeopardise any potential move that would see them miss out on a hefty transfer fee.
World Cup 'breakout' star catches eye of Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani with messages exchanged
Victor Orta has revealed he has received messages from Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani about Morocco’s World Cup star Azzedine Ounahi.
The 22-year-old has been one of the ‘breakout’ players of the tournament, according to the Whites’ sporting director, helping his country to the semi-finals in Qatar.
Ounahi plays his club football in France with Ligue 1 side Angers and his talents went under the radar in the build-up to the tournament.
However, he has been a key man in Walid Regragui’s side and his performances alongside the likes of Sofyan Amrabat and Selim Amallah in the middle of the park have caught the eye.
Radrizzani is one of those to have taken notice of Ounahi at the World Cup and according to Orta, he has been keen to learn more about him.
I’m going to be honest, I’ll mention a name - [Azzedine] Ounahi, the Morocco number eight," Orta said.
"How many messages have I received about him? Even my President has messaged me! ‘Where was this guy? We haven’t seen him!’ Even the President!'
Darko Gyabi braced for Leeds United surprise when Tyler Adams example is repeated
Opportunity will knock for one Leeds United player when Manchester City visit Elland Road two weeks today.
Tyler Adams’s suspension guarantees at least one slot from the last competitive match is up for grabs when the Premier League reconvenes.
Adam Forshaw might be the smart-money bet for picking out Marc Roca’s partner when the champions visit, but his injury record and limited minutes this season don’t make it a foregone conclusion.
The likes of Mateusz Klich, Sam Greenwood and Darko Gyabi are waiting in the wings too.
Gyabi, not even 19 until February, was quickly promoted from the under-21 ranks and into the senior fold as Jesse Marsch took the cream of that crop under his wing.
Along with Sonny Perkins, Mateo Joseph and Archie Gray, Gyabi’s potential has been acknowledged by the coaching staff.
