Leo Hjelde's dad explains his son's debut
Leo Hjelde's dad has opened up on how 'special' it was to see his son make his Premier League debut with Leeds United back in January. The 18-year-old came on as a first-half substitute in the game against West Ham United, helping his side to a 3-2 win at the London Stadium.
The Norwegian defender has been a mainstay in the Under 23s side this season, but has impressed when he's been called upon in the first-team. He also featured in the FA Cup game at West Ham and the 3-0 defeat against Everton, where he started at left-back.
And father Jon Olav, who played for Nottingham Forest and Mansfield Town, has explained the feeling behind he got from Hjelde's debut. It has been a memorable first season for the teenager at the Whites following his move from Celtic last summer.

Speaking to Norway's Dagbladet, Hjelde senior said: "It was very special and a little nerve-wracking. You know he has the level inside, but I was a little unsure when he went out there.
"I probably think the pulse of the father was higher than the pulse of the son. There are many who think it's fun. It's first and foremost fun for Leo, he is the one who stands up in it and got his debut."
Luke Ayling explains difference in Leeds' win over Wolves
Luke Ayling has explained the feeling in the Leeds United dressing room following his dramatic late winner against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 31-year-old popped up in injury-time to secure all three points for the Whites after coming from two goals down at Molineux.
It proved to be a disastrous first-half for Leeds, who were forced to make three early substitutions when Patrick Bamford, Diego Llorente and Mateusz Klich all limped off before half-time. And Wolves took advantage of Leeds' problems and scored two quick-fire goals as Jonny and Francisco Trincao gave Bruno Lage's side a healthy cushion.
But the game changed on the hour mark when Raul Jimenez was shown his second yellow card for a late challenge on Illan Meslier, who also had to be substituted. The red card gave Leeds the momentum, though, and they pulled one back through Jack Harrison, before Rodrigo levelled the scoreline moments later.
There was still time for the Whites to grab a dramatic late winner, as Ayling brought the ball down inside the area and smashed an effort into the back of the net. The former Arsenal right-back is hoping Leeds can build on their second successive Premier League win.
"It’s some buzz, you know," Ayling told LUTV. "We came in 2-0 down with a sloppy goal towards the end of the half and the boys heads seemed a bit down.
"But, we came out second half and showed character. Their player getting sent off is a game changer and the boys dug in to get a massive three points, it’s huge.
"We just said to carry on going, we had got into some great positions in the first half and we should maybe have taken a chance before they scored their first goal. It’s just a massive result in the end, the boys are buzzing."
