Leeds United news as Jamie Carragher makes Jesse Marsch 'pressure' claim ahead of Liverpool

Here are your Leeds United evening headlines on Wednesday October, 26.

Carragher sends Marsch 'pressure' message ahead of Liverpool

Former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher believes Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch 'looks under pressure' from fans after last weekend's 3-2 loss to Fulham at Elland Road.

Despite finding themselves 1-0 up after a 20th-minute goal from Rodrigo, an Aleksandar Mitrovic header just six minutes later levelled the score at halftime.

More poor defending in the second half saw Bobby Decordova-Reid and Willian score to hand the Whites their fifth loss in six games, condemning them to the relegation zone, after a goal from Crysencio Summerville wasn't enough to spur a late comeback.

Speaking on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football alongside former Burnley boss Sean Dyche, Carragher compared both Leeds and Wolverhampton Wanderers' seasons, who also find themselves in the relegation zone, ahead of the Whites' game against his former club on Saturday.

"I mean you talk about them all being in a relegation fight. You certainly look at two of the teams, not just because they are in the bottom three, but there will be questions asked on the back of the weekend results.

"Jesse Marsch looks like he is under pressure from the Leeds fans. Wolves, it’s interesting, they obviously went for Mick Beale at QPR and it hasn’t happened. They have put Steve Davis in charge until 2023.

"It’s interesting the dynamic of other teams changing, getting a decent result and what exactly goes into the heads of the Wolves board then. Would that create panic because you are looking at what other clubs are doing with their managers?"

Bamford on positive impact of Rainbow Laces campaign

Patrick Bamford claims there's been a big change in the attitude of players towards the Rainbow Laces campaign for the better. The Leeds United striker said players were originally worried over what people may think if they wore the symbol of support in their boots, but now, is happy that it's now a norm.

Speaking to Sky Sports Premier League, with Sky presenter Mark McAdam - who came out in 2014 - Bamford talked about the need for using his platform in a positive way. During which, McAdam said he embarked upon a journey where he wanted to make football a more inclusive place.

Bamford said: "The viewpoint on gay footballers was such a stone age view. Football is a game for everyone, so why should there be any differences for anybody?"

Ex-Leeds United man makes Marsch prediction

Danny Mills believes two big defeats in Leeds United's three matches leading up to the World Cup could spell the end of Jesse Marsch. Marsch is coming under increasing pressure from supporters after Leeds' winless run extended to eight in Sunday's 3-2 defeat to Fulham.

The Whites now have just three matches remaining in the Premier League before the season takes a six-week break for the World Cup in Qatar. But Leeds do not have it easy until then as a home clash with Bournemouth is sandwiched between trips to both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking on talkSPORT, ex-Leeds defender Mills gave his opinion on where he thinks it has gone wrong for Marsch, and believes he may not have much longer in charge if results are poor in the next couple of weeks.
