Here are the latest Leeds United evening headlines on Thursday, 8 September 2022.
Meslier nomination
Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier has been nominated for the Premier League’s first ever save of the month award. Meslier has been recognised for his stop on the stroke of half time to deny Leander Dendoncker from close range.
With the score at 1-1, Dendoncker was played through on goal inside the six-yard box with the goal at his mercy. Meslier was out quickly to spread himself, though, to deny him with his feet to ensure Leeds entered the half time on level terms.
Leeds, of course, went onto win that match 2-1 in the second 45 minutes, highlighting just how important that save was. You can vote for Meslier here.

Rodrigo update
Leeds United forward Rodrigo Moreno has given an update on his shoulder injury as his team-mates prepare for Monday's Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest. The Spaniard dislocated his shoulder in Leeds' 1-1 draw against Everton at Elland Road last week after scoring four goals in the first five games of Leeds ' season.
Rodrigo is now set for a spell on the sidelines until he returns to full fitness, but with this new update, fans might be optimistic that a return may take place sooner rather than later. Posting a story to his Instagram account, Rodrigo gave fans a clue as to his injury recovery and how he's getting along.
The picture showed him in the medical room with the caption "Good morning. All Good."

Kristensen
Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen has reportedly been ruled out for two to three weeks, according to journalist Mike McGrath. The Danish international picked up an injury in training before the Whites 5-2 loss to Brentford at the weekend and won't be available for Jesse Marsch's side until after the international break.
Marsch was forced to bring in 20-year-old Cody Drameh to replace Kristensen, who only joined Leeds from this summer from Red Bull Salzburg for a fee of £10 million. Taking to his Twitter account, McGrath tweeted: "#LUFC right-back Rasmus Kristensen set to miss a fortnight of action (max 3 weeks) with the injury that ruled him out vs Brentford last weekend."
