Here are your Leeds United evening headlines on Tuesday, January 10.
Former Leeds United man set to finally make full Manchester City debut
Former Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips is set to finally make his full Manchester City debut, a whole seven months after he swapped Elland Road for the Etihad Stadium.
After a 12-year stint with the Whites through the academy system and into the first team, Phillips joined Pep Guardiola's side in the summer but has only made five appearances for the Citizens this season due to a reoccurring shoulder injury.
However, according to the Times, Guardiola will name the 27-year-old in his starting XI for the first time in their Carabao Cup quarter-final against Southampton tomorrow night.
The opportunity for Phillips comes after a very public announcement by Guardiola that he'd come back from his World Cup duty with England 'overweight' and wasn't in the shape to even train, let alone play.
But after numerous substitute appearances after the return from the winter break, it seems as though Phillips will now be given his first start for City.
Georginio Rutter is a phenomenal talent but mooted Leeds United transfer not without risks
Leeds United are in the market for a centre-forward, and at the time of writing, Georginio Rutter appears to be their prime candidate in the January transfer window.
Rodrigo has hit 11 goals across all competitions for Leeds this term, but Patrick Bamford's injury issues and dramatic loss of form has meant that the goal-scoring responsibilities have rested firmly on the Spaniard's shoulders.
Bamford has gone over 13 months without a goal for the Whites, and is once again on the casualty list after suffering his latest blow in an injury-ridden 18 months.
Premier League sack race odds offer context to pressure facing Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch
Jesse Marsch may be under pressure at Leeds United, but is by no means the favourite to become the next Premier League boss to face the sack.
Marsch is seventh on the list of candidates at 16/1, despite failing to register a single victory in any of Leeds' last six games across all competitions. Leeds have registered back-to-back draws over Newcastle and West Ham in their last two league games to sit two points above the relegation zone.
According to Betfair, Everton boss Frank Lampard is the leading favourite to become the next Premier League manager to leave his post. The former Derby and Chelsea boss is currently odds-on to depart Goodison Park at 4/9.
