Friedel laments treatment of Americans in football
Former Premier League goalkeeper and USA international Brad Friedel has described the treatment of Americans over language use in football as 'very unfair'.
Newly-appointed Leeds boss Jesse Marsch has spoken openly about the stigma surrounding Americans in English football since becoming the first USA-born manager to take charge of a Premier League club since Bob Bradley.
Bradley had a brief stint in charge of Swansea City and was mocked for his language choices, which included once calling a penalty kick a 'PK'.
When asked about unfairness over language on Stadium Astro, Friedel answered: "[It is] very unfair. What is the difference that if a manager comes in and doesn't speak English at all and he has a translator, why wouldn't you give them the same grief that you would give an American for calling it soccer or PKs?
"Bob Bradley comes from a different era than Jesse Marsch does. Jesse has been in and around the Red Bull system and the main hub is in Germany, so I think he would have been calling it football throughout all of his coaching badges, his licences, all of his education so I'm sure football is something that's ingrained in him and he's much younger than Bob Bradley."
Marsch reveals post-Leicester message to squad
Leeds United head coach Jesse Marsch has revealed what he said to his squad following the 1-0 defeat to Leicester City in his first game in charge of the club.
The players gathered on the pitch at the King Power Stadium for a huddle after the final whistle and Marsch has explained the 'simple message' he delivered to the players.
He said: "It was a real simple message: this was very positive and a big step in right direction and I know the stress of the situation in the moment is that they know they want to get points and they have such a desire to achieve for the fans and for each other.
"With me and a fresh perspective, I need to continue to feed them the right kind of information and be positive with them, not just for the sake of being positive but I want them to know how strong that was, how good that was and we're going to use it as momentum to continue to get better."

Ian Wright criticises Raphinha
Arsenal icon Ian Wright has admitted he was 'disappointed' with the performance of Leeds United winger Raphinha in the 1-0 defeat to Leicester City.
There were signs of improvement from the Whites, who were unlucky to come away from the King Power Stadium empty-handed.
However, Brazil international Raphinha underwhelmed and missed an opportunity to score the first goal of the Jesse Marsch era.
Speaking on BBC's Match of the Day, Wright said: "I think Raphinha is someone who’s got to do a lot more, I’m very disappointed with the way he played.
"I think he’s got to score that. He is someone that needs to do more, a lot more. He’s got too much [ability] to be playing as poorly as he did today."
