Here are tonight's evening Leeds United headlines on Wednesday, June 14.
James Milner seals Brighton move
There will be no fairytale Leeds United homecoming for James Milner, as the former Whites midfielder has signed from Brighton, following the expiration of his deal at Liverpool.
The prospects of Leeds tempting the 37-year-old back to Elland Road were slim, even before relegation, but the Thorp Arch graduate has now signed a one-year deal on the south coast, with the option of a further year to follow.
“I’m very glad to welcome James to Brighton," said Seagulls head coach Roberto De Zerbi. "He’s an excellent addition for us and I’m sure he will help to bring us to an even higher level.”

After leaving Leeds in 2005, Milner has had stops at Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Manchester City before his eight-year stint at Anfield, picking up every domestic honour available along the way.
Should Milner play a regular part at Brighton and see his option for a second year picked up, he will have a shot at breaking the all-time Premier League appearance-maker list. He currently sits on 619 games, behind only Gareth Barry (652) and Ryan Giggs (632).
Cresswell one of six Leeds United players set for U21s Euros after England call
Leeds United youngster Charlie Cresswell will be eyeing international silverware this summer after being named in the England squad for the 2023 UEFA European U21 Championships. Cresswell was included in Lee Carsley’s training squad earlier this month and he has now made the final cut for the tournament.
As such, he will travel out to Georgia in the coming days with the rest of the England U21s squad to prepare for their opening group stage game next week. The Three Lions have been drawn to take on Czech Republic, Israel and Germany in Group C, with all three games taking part in Georgia, with the country sharing hosting duties with Romania.
England will play their first group game against Czech Republic on June 22 in Batumi and Cresswell will hope to secure a starting spot after recently returning from a facial injury. The centre-back, who has spent the season catching the eye while on loan with Millwall, has plenty of competition, though.
Why Leeds United might welcome Adams transfer interest as Liverpool take a look
Leeds United can only benefit from the possibility of a bidding war as Premier League teams reportedly jostle for position in the race to sign Tyler Adams. Liverpool are the latest to be credited with interest in Adams, with Teamtalk claiming the Reds have taken a look at the American’s situation at Elland Road.
That means Liverpool have joined the likes of Nottingham Forest, Manchester United, Newcastle United in being linked to the midfielder following Leeds' relegation from the Premier League. It’s no surprise to see so many clubs keeping tabs on Adams this summer, given his impressive debut season in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old, signed from RB Leipzig last summer for a fee of around £20m, was arguably Leeds’ strongest performer this season with his fierce displays in the middle of the park seeing him win plenty of plaudits. He missed the last two months of the campaign due to a hamstring injury, and unfortunately, his absence was hard felt.
