Leeds United news as Diego Flores makes admission over Spygate question

Here are your latest Leeds United morning headlines for Sunday, April 30.

Former Leeds United coach Diego Flores makes admission over Spygate question

Diego Flores has claimed a number of teams watched Leeds United train but were never reported following the Spygate saga.

Marcelo Bielsa had angered Derby County and Frank Lampard by sending someone to watch them train prior to their clash in 2019.

Leeds ultimately ran out 2-0 winners but Bielsa was condemned by large sections of the British press. Nevertheless, former Leeds coach Flores says the Whites were by no means the only club to send people to watch other teams train.

“Yes, I participated. I wasn’t the one who went to observe the opponent’s training, but we all lived it,” he told Infobae.

“Several people from other clubs also came to see us, but we never reported them. It’s really as Marcelo explained, trying to do everything possible to win the games, although that wasn’t what made us win them.

“I think it was well handled. Some people used it, denounced it as something terrifying and it hadn’t been like that. Here in South America it is a very normal practice. It was lived, it passed and it was another life experience.”

Javi Gracia told to make triple Leeds United change as vital Bournemouth clash awaits

Leeds United supporters have told manager Javi Gracia that he must make three changes to his starting XI that played against Leicester on Tuesday night as they head to Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.

The Whites are hoping to both close the gap between them and the Cherries to three points while simultaneously opening up the gap between them and the relegation zone.

Javi Gracia could be tempted by Leeds United change of tack vs Bournemouth

Leeds United failed to make the most of Tuesday night’s match against Leicester City. Javi Gracia’s side would have moved three points clear of the drop zone had they held onto their lead but they could only succumb to a 1-1 draw at Elland Road.

It was a hugely frustrating encounter with Leeds extending their winless run to four games and it only serves to pile the pressure on this weekend’s contest on the south coast. Bournemouth are certainly not to be taken lightly given they are six points better off and more than likely looking at another season of top flight football but United need the three points more than ever.

Leeds cannot rely on the poor form of others at the bottom to keep them up. They simply must start picking up points and with five games to go and three of the top five to play, they are unlikely to have a better opportunity to record a win and breathe life into their hopes of survival.
