Here are the latest Leeds United morning headlines on Tuesday, May 3.
Dean Smith details Leeds defeat as reason for relegation
It has been another disappointing return to the Premier League for Norwich City this season as they have once again been relegated straight back to the Championship. Their fate was sealed at the weekend when Burnley came from behind to beat Watford at Vicarage Road.
Dean Smith had the thankless task of replacing Daniel Farke in mid-November and he too struggled to get a different tune out of the players. Speaking after the Canaries’ defeat against his former side on Saturday, Smith pinned the relegation on two of their earlier results.

“I think we knew when you come into the Premier League and after ten games you have only got two points then it is going to be tough to stay up,” he told NorfolkLive.
“But there have been moments where I feel we could have been better. You’ve got to go and win the games with the teams that are in and around you and the two games that probably cost us the most was Brentford at home and Leeds away in quick succession, we lost both of them. Another dubious VAR in one of them as well but that happens.”
Aston Villa to have big hand in Premier League run in
Smith’s former club’s win against Norwich on Saturday took them to the revered 40-point tally and they look almost guaranteed to be playing Premier League football again next season. They still have a huge part to play in the battle at both ends before the end of the campaign.
Firstly, they face Burnley away from home on Saturday before they look to halt Liverpool’s title charge at Villa Park. A largely pointless clash with Crystal Palace follows that pair of fixtures then Steven Gerrard’s side have two huge games.
They host Burnley in the penultimate game of the season before visiting the Etihad where they could play a massive part in deciding which team will lift the title on the final day.

Agbonlahor expects Leeds to fill final relegation spot
Results over the weekend could not have been any worse for Leeds, especially given the injuries sustained by Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas. For that reason, Gabby Agbonlahor believes Jesse Marsch’s side are in bigger trouble than both Everton and Burnley.
"Leeds for me were playing as if they were safe," said the former Villa striker on talkSPORT’s Gameday. "If they go into the changing rooms after and look at the table, the table shows that Leeds have 34 points, are behind Burnley now and have got the worst goal difference out of all three teams fighting to stay in the Premier League out of Burnley and Everton.
"Leeds are in trouble, they could be one of the teams that I'm looking at could be going down. Forget Burnley and Everton, I think Leeds are in big trouble."
