Leeds United news as Crysencio Summerville loan talks 'intensify'

Here are the latest Leeds United evening headlines on Tuesday, 25 January 2022.

Summerville links

Bundesliga 2 side Hamburg are reportedly in talks with Leeds United over the signing of winger Crysencio Summerville.

That is according to Bild, via TeamTalk, who claim that discussions between the two clubs are intensifying after the German side identified him as a player who ‘fits their profile perfectly’.

Leeds will not entertain any offers over a permanent sale for Summerville and so a loan until the end of the season could be in the offing, however Hamburg view him as someone who could also be their long-term.

The report also states that Summerville is keen on a move across Europe after growing frustrated over a lack of game time.

Aaronson stance

Brenden Aaronson has refused to be drawn into speaking about speculation linking him with a move to Leeds United this month.

The Whites have earmarked the Red Bull Salzburg midfielder as their number one target and have so far submitted two bids for Aaronson, with neither having been accepted.

Aaronson, though, who according to some reports is keen on the move, stayed quiet on the rumours when asked in a press conference ahead of the USMNT’s upcoming fixtures.

He said: “I'm not going to talk about that. It’s a subject I don't want to talk about right now.

"I'm away from it, I'm really not worried about it. I'm just worried about getting wins with America."

Bogusz message

Matuesz Bogusz has issued a defiant message after it was revealed he is set to undergo surgery on a torn anterior cruciate ligament injury.

The Leeds United midfielder suffered the injury while on loan at UD Ibiza, where had been enjoying an excellent spell, netting four goals and providing seven assists in 20 games.

Bogusz, however, is now set for an extended period of time on the sidelines, which has prompted him to a issue a determined response via his Instagram.

He said: "Thank you for all messages... will [be] back stronger.”
