Leeds United news as Charlie Cresswell closes in on loan switch and Whites drop Everton complaint

Here are the latest Leeds United evening headlines on Friday, 1 July 2022.

Cresswell close to loan switch

Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell is closing in on a season-long-loan switch to Championship side Millwall. That is according to South London Press, who claim that the terms of a deal have been agreed and Cresswell is set for a medical early next week.

The England U21 international remains very highly rated at Elland Road and after seven appearances last season, regular football is the next stage of his development. Millwall have beaten off competition from other Championship clubs including Sunderland for his signature.

Leeds drop Everton complaint

Leeds United and Burnley have dropped their complaints regarding Everton’s transfer expenditure after receiving assurances from the Premier League, according to Mail Online.

CDK Leicester

Leeds United may have hit an obstacle in their pursuit of Charles de Ketelaere. Leicester City are reportedly confident of signing the Belgium international as they plan to revamp their squad.

The Whites have recently emerged as potential suitors for the youngster but their Premier League rivals have been keeping tabs on him for months. AC Milan have also been credited with an interest in De Ketelaere and have the added benefit of Champions League football to offer the 21-year-old.

Although, according to 90min, the Foxes are confident of bringing him to King Power Stadium this summer following their long-standing interest. While Brendan Rodgers’ side were unable to qualify for European football for the third consecutive season, their recent success continues to make them an attractive proposition for young players.
