Here are your evening Leeds United headlines on Wednesday, May 24.
Brenden Aaronson set for Leeds United stay regardless of division
That is according to MLS Transfers, who claim Leeds have made it clear to the USMNT international midfielder that he is expected to stay at the club next season, regardless if they are relegated to the Championship or not.
Aaronson joined Leeds last summer from RB Salzburg and despite a positive start to life at Elland Road, he has struggled since returning from the 2022 World Cup with his national side.
He has yet to start a game under Sam Allardyce but it seems his long term future remains on West Yorkshire, no matter what happens in the final game of the season at home to Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

Clocks will start ticking for Leeds United at 6.30pm on Sunday evening. Once it is finally clear which division they will be in, the dominoes on their future will have to start toppling, and quickly.
Understandably, no meaningful decisions can be made until the hundreds-of-millions-of-pounds impact of relegation or survival is resolved. Preparation can, and must, be done in advance of Sunday’s full-time whistle because there will not be much time at all for ducks to be put in a row.
By now, supporters should be familiar with the various Elland Road issues at play. Ownership needs to be resolved in short order, allowing virtually every other decision of the close season to fall into place.

Simon Jordan slams Andrea Radrizzani as relegation looms for Leeds United amid 'wasted opportunity'
Simon Jordan has criticised Andrea Radrizzani for the 'ridiculous push me-pull me mentality' at Leeds United as relegation looms. Sam Allardyce's side must beat Tottenham at Elland Road on Sunday, and hope results elsewhere go in their favour to pull off the great escape.
Jordan told talkSPORT via MOT Leeds News: “They’re not going down like they did in 2004 absolutely weighed down by mismanagement from people like Peter Ridsdale and maybe Alan Leighton who was on the board and involved in the decisions that they made. They’re going down because they wasted their own time and wasted opportunity, but they’re not going down in an economic car crash.
"Maybe it’ll clear the water for them. Maybe this ridiculous push me-pull me mentality of who’s running that football club [will go]. Radrizzani wanting to get out of the door and ultimately someone else wanting to buy it, and neither one making particularly good decisions.
"Because there’s logical thinking behind Jesse Marsch bouncing into Javi Gracia, then bouncing into Sam Allardyce with four games to go after spending a certain amount of money in the January window, never playing the player you bought in the January transfer window, and then firing the coach directly after the transfer window who bought the players. So maybe there will be clarity."
