Leeds United news as Bournemouth comeback hailed as 'massive' amid Elland Road 'turning' claim

Rio Ferdinand believes Leeds United's comeback victory over Bournemouth on Saturday could be a 'massive result' in terms of Jesse Marsch's future. Leeds came back from 3-1 down to win 4-3 at Elland Road to make it consecutive wins in the Premier League for the first time this season.

However, given the nature of the performance in the first hour, fans were not afraid to express their frustration. And it is for that reason Ferdinand sees the result as so important, claiming the place 'would have been turning' had they gone onto lose.

Speaking on his Vibe With Five YouTube channel, he said: “Yeah he is (holding on to his job). I think that result there for Leeds was a massive result because I think the place would have been turning given how the game started for them, going behind and what not.”

Wolves coach Steve Davis has confirmed he will pick his strongest possible side to take on Leeds United in the Carabao Cup third round. Davis has been in charge at Molineux since the start of October and he’ll remain in the hot seat until the World Cup break, when former Spain and Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui will take over.

As such, Davis will be selecting the team on Wednesday night when the Whites, who have won their last two, travel to the West Midlands with a spot in the fourth round on the line. Wolves have struggled of late, picking up just one win in their last eight in the Premier League and consequently, they are 19th in the table, above Nottingham Forest on goal difference.

They host league leaders Arsenal on Saturday and Davis admits that game is in their thoughts. However, he’ll no doubt be keen to see his side use the cup clash as a way of bolstering confidence and he’s planning to name the best XI possible.

“Our approach is always the same,” Davis told the official Wolves website. “To get a good result and win the game, and the Carabao Cup will be no different."

Summerville’s streak to continue?

Crysencio Summerville is one of the few starters from last weekend you might expect to continue for Leeds United tonight. The 21-year-old has not had as many minutes as most of Saturday’s side, so he should not be in the fitness red zone.

There’s a lot to be said for form and feeding it too. After scoring in three games on the bounce, a run at a rotated Wolverhampton Wanderers may be just what the Dutch winger needs.
