Leeds United news as Arsenal now 'firm favourites' to sign Raphinha

Arsenal now 'firm favourites' to sign Raphinha

Leeds United have already turned down one bid for Raphinha, as Arsenal made an offer last week. However, it is reported that the North London club will return this week to 'intensify' their pursuit of Leeds' star attacker.

Despite previous reports stating that Raphinha only wanted to move to Barcelona, the Athletic have stated that Arsenal are now 'firm favourites' to sign the Brazilian. This follows meetings with his representatives and Leeds' fellow Premier League side.

"Having already seen one offer rejected by Leeds last week, Arsenal are ready to enhance their proposal in the hope it brings them closer to an agreement with their Premier League counterparts.

Former Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa ruled out of return to Athletic Bilbao

Social media was awash with excitement last week, as Marcelo Bielsa announced that he would return to manage his former club, Athletic Bilbao, should the club's presidential candidate that chose him as the next manager win in their elections this weekend.

However, the election was dominated by another candidate, who will install another former Athletic manager - Ernesto Valverde - to the post.
