Leeds United news as Arsenal face another injury scare ahead of Premier League clash with Whites

Here are your Leeds United morning headlines on Wednesday, March 29.

Arsenal suffer another injury scare ahead of Leeds United clash

Arsenal star Kieran Tierney limped off the pitch during Scotland's 2-0 win over Spain on Tuesday night to add to their growing list of injury concerns ahead of their game against Leeds United on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners will already be without four first-team players as Mohamed Elneny, Eddie Nketiah, Takehiro Tomiyasu and William Saliba will all be sidelined through injury. Captain Martin Odegaard had a close-call after he was caught with a nasty-looking studs-up challenge by Manchester City midfielder Rodri - but this time Mikel Arteta now looks set to be without five players for the weekend.

That is after Tierney was seen limping off the pitch after 75 minutes - to be replaced by Whites captain Liam Cooper - as he now looks to be a doubt for the game at the Emirates with a suspected calf problem. Although Oleksandr Zinchenko has kept the Scot out of the Arsenal starting XI in recent weeks, the injury to Saliba means that the Premier League leaders are looking rather threadbare when it comes to their defensive options.

Leeds United dealt international break boost Javi Gracia needed ahead of the run-in

International breaks can be nervy and anxious periods for Premier League managers. Coaches across the top flight will have been watching performances through their fingers at times, hoping and praying that their players can return unscathed.

Javi Gracia will have been no different as members of his Leeds United squad travelled far and wide to represent their countries. Unfortunately for Gracia, both Wilfried Gnonto and Max Wober seem to have picked up small issues over the last few days.

Wober suffered a thigh injury while representing Austria, while Gnonto could be seen limping out of Italy’s win over Malta with what has been described as a sprained ankle. The pair will be assessed on their return to Thorp Arch before a decision is made on whether they will be fit to take on Arsenal on Saturday afternoon at the Emirates Stadium.

Paul Robinson claims Weston McKennie is 'shackled' at Leeds United after USMNT display

Former Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson has claimed loanee Weston McKennie is being 'shackled' by manager Javi Gracia after his impressive display for the USA last week.

The 24-year-old netted twice within three first-half minutes in their 7-1 win over Grenada in the CONCACAF Nations League, with both goals coming from set pie

That comes as a stark contrast to his rather slow start to life at Elland Road, and while his performances haven't at all been bad, many fans were hoping to see much more from the promised partnership of him and compatriot Tyler Adams.
