With manager Javi Gracia also set to exit the Whites this week after a shocking run of form, Orta has finally seen his six-year reign over the club come to an end - much to the delight of fans.
The full email from Kinnear read as follows (via Daily Mail): "Team, I am very sorry to have to tell you that Victor has agreed with Andrea to leave the club.
"As you all know, not only has Victor been the architect of our promotion but he has also been unofficially responsible for [the] vital job of managing morale within the Club!
"From a personal perspective he has been a great friend as we have travelled the length and breadth of the country from defeat in Newport to victory at Anfield and the Etihad.
"His passion and energy to "make Leeds great again" has been unmatched and we owe him a lot. Despite our [current] challenges he leaves a legacy in a revolutionised football operation and a pipeline of young talent that will perform for Leeds for many years to come.
"We will be arranging a formal farewell in the near future."
Leeds United midfielder becomes first player to break silence on Victor Orta exit
Marc Roca has become the first Leeds United player to break his silence on Victor Orta's departure from Elland Road.
Orta served as sporting director for six years at Leeds and played an instrumental role in helping assemble Marcelo Bielsa's Championship title-winning squad in 2020.
Leeds signed the likes of Mateusz Klich, Jack Harrison and Patrick Bamford under his watch, and also prised Raphinha from Stade Rennes following their promotion to the Premier League in 2020.
Sam Allardyce has already told Wilfried Gnonto he'll have a role at Leeds United under him
Sam Allardyce revealed on his podcast last week that Wilfried Gnonto should be starting for Leeds United.
Javi Gracia has been reluctant to name Gnonto in the starting XI since taking charge in February. The teenager was handed only his third start under the Spaniard in the 4-1 defeat at Bournemouth on Sunday.
Allardyce has since emerged as the top contender to takeover from Gracia, who Leeds are considering sacking after just 10 weeks at the helm.
