San Francisco 49ers set to face competition from middle east for Leeds United ownership
NFL franchise the San Francisco 49ers are reportedly set to face middle eastern opposition for the ownership of Leeds United. The American football side currently own 44 per cent of the Whites, with a deal in place for them to takeover the club in January 2024.
However, the MailOnline report the 49ers bid to takeover Leeds could now be under threat from a middle eastern buyer.

While it is unsure whether or not the unnamed middle eastern based group will make a serious bid for the Whites, their interest is said to be in the early stages.
The 49ers deal to takeover Leeds is reportedly worth around £400m and is potentially contingent upon the Whites still being in the Premier League at that time.
However, there is nothing to stop another party trying to take over Leeds, which could see the club become embroiled in an ownership battle in the coming years should the middle eastern interest solidify.
Jesse Marsch claims FA Cup run can give Leeds 'momentum'
Jesse Marsch says a run in the FA Cup can give Leeds United 'momentum' ahead of his side's third round tie at Cardiff City on Sunday.
Leeds won't feature in the Carabao Cup quarter-final next week after their defeat against Wolves in the previous round. This provides them with a sizeable break before their next Premier League fixture against Aston Villa on Friday, January 13.
In their defeat to Wolves, the Whites named a side which boasted plenty of inexperienced youngsters, in an effort to keep their more senior players fit for the Premier League.
And the American coach has hinted he will name a side strong enough for the challenge at hand against Cardiff this weekend.
"We believe that a cup run can give us momentum," said Marsch.
"We believe that and even when we chose to play the line-up that we did against Wolves, it wasn't that we were throwing in the towel.
"Given where we were at that moment we felt that to give ourselves the best chance in that tournament, as well as against Tottenham, that was what was necessary.
"If we would have beaten Tottenham when we were up on them late in the match, even losing to Wolves, I would have thought that we got a lot out of Wolves because we played pretty well."
January signing Max Wober 'in the mix' for Leeds United debut ahead of Cardiff City clash
Jesse Marsch says new signing Max Wober is 'in the mix' to feature when Leeds United travel to Cardiff City in the FA Cup third round on Sunday.
Wober became Leeds' first signing of the January transfer window when he completed his switch from reigning Austrian Bundesliga champions Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday.
The Austrian international centre-back, who is also capable of playing at left-back, played under Marsch in Salzburg - winning back-to-back league titles with the American at the Red Bull Arena.
"Max has I think settled in really well. He had a good training session today," Marsch said in his pre-FA Cup Cardiff City presser.
"I think again, he understands what I'm looking for out of him and out of our team. So we'll see how fit and ready he is for this match, but he will be in the mix."
