Leeds United news as £34m Weston McKennie 'gentlemen's agreement' with Juventus 'revealed'

Here are your Leeds United morning headlines on Wednesday, March 22.

Leeds United holding on to £34m 'gentlemen's agreement' amid Weston McKennie deal

Leeds United's deal in the January transfer window for central midfielder Weston McKennie has seen the American join the club on loan until the end of the season, with many outlets widely accepting that his permanent arrival would be forced upon the Whites if they remain in the Premier League.

However, that obligation now appears to be in doubt as Leeds are now believed to simply hold a 'gentlemen's agreement' with his parent club Juventus regarding his move.

This is according to Italian news outlet Ilbianconero, who say that the full fee of €39m (£34m) might not have to be paid, even if the Whites remain in the Premier League.

The Leeds United squad Javi Gracia has left to work with over the international break

Javi Gracia will intend to use the international break as an opportunity to further implement his ideas on those who will not be representing their country this month.

Leeds have five players away on senior international duty, while a further seven will be representing their nations at youth level.

Liam Cooper has been named in Scotland's squad despite his recent injury issues, while Max Wober and Wilfried Gnonto have been selected for Austria and Italy respectively.

Wober was signed by Jesse Marsch in January, after previously playing under the American at Red Bull Salzburg. However, the Austrian international has remained a focal point in the side since Marsch's sacking and has formed a promising partnership with Robin Koch in recent weeks.
