Leeds United new squad numbers confirmed as new kits gets first outing vs Brisbane Roar clash

Leeds United's squad numbers for the 2022/23 season still haven't been officially announced, but the shirt numbers the players were wearing for the friendly against Brisbane Roar were more or less confirmation, as the new home shirt got it's first outing following Wednesday's unveiling.

All six of Leeds' summer signings were in the squad to face Brisbane Roar this morning, with Marc Roca, Rasmus Kristensen and Brenden Aaronson all starting. Luis Sinisterra came off the bench after 30 minutes in a pre-planned substitution with Tyler Adams and Darko Gyabi half-time substitutes.

Roca and Aaronson have already been seen wearing the number seven and eight shirts respectively, and the pair sported the same number against Brisbane Roar. The Whites' last number seven was Ian Poveda, while Vurnon Anita was the last player to wear the number eight.

Full-back Kristensen wore the number 25 shirt for the game in Queensland.

Adams donned the number 12 shirt, while Sinisterra wore the number 23, which was previously worn by Kalvin Phillps. Gyabi was in the number 18 jersey, which was last worn by Raphinha in the 20/21 campaign.

The number 10 shirt at Leeds is set to become available with Raphinha set to officially join Barcelona, while the number 11 shirt is also available after Tyler Roberts joined Queens Park Rangers on loan earlier this month.
