Leeds United have announced that Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood and Crysencio Summerville have all agreed new long-term contracts at the club. The trio have all been in talks over signing new deals for a number of weeks now and have finally put pen-to-paper four days ahead of the start of the Premier League.
Gelhardt has penned a contract until the summer of 2027, while Greenwood and Summerville have both signed deals running until the summer of 2026. The three of them all arrived at Elland Road ahead of Leeds’ first season back in the Premier League and went onto make their breakthroughs into the senior side last season.
With new contracts now agreed, it is expected that the trio will all play significant roles in the first team again this season as Jesse Marsch looks to place his trust into youth. A statement from the club read: “Leeds United are delighted to confirm that the futures of Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood and Crysencio Summerville have all been secured, with the trio signing new long-term contracts.

“Gelhardt has signed a deal until the summer of 2027, with Greenwood and Summerville both agreeing terms until the summer of 2026.
“All three players signed for the club in the summer of 2020 and then initially spent time playing together in the Under-23s, before progressing into the first team.
“A hugely potent attacking force both individually and together, Gelhardt, Greenwood and Summerville tore the Premier League 2 Division 2 apart in their first season at the club, firing the side to the title and promotion to the top tier.
“Their form and clear ability allowed them to shine at Under-23 level, meaning first-team Premier League debuts were never going to be far away as the Whites began a second season in the top-flight.
“Summerville’s debut arrived in September 2021, Gelhardt’s followed in October 2021, before Greenwood was then also rewarded with his first appearance in December 2021.
“With the side battling for safety in a hard-fought season full of challenges, each player would go on to make a difference when given an opportunity on the pitch, as well as keeping their standards high in training, helping to achieve safety on the final day of the 2021/22 season.
“Away from the pitch, Joe, Sam and Crysencio have all shown an exemplary attitude towards working within and visiting the local community, helping to inspire the future generations.
“Everyone at Leeds United is delighted that three such talented and hard-working professionals have decided to commit their future to Leeds United, where they will now continue their development under the guidance of Jesse Marsch and his coaching staff.
“The future is bright for the Whites.”
