Leeds United loan watch as Tyler Roberts stars for QPR, midfielder makes long-awaited comeback

It was a mixed weekend for Leeds United’s loanees this weekend as club football returned following the international break. Here is a look at how each of them got on.

Charlie Cresswell and Jamie Shackleton

Cresswell and Shackleton both started Millwall’s fifth defeat in seven matches as Gary Rowett’s side were beaten 2-1 at Blackburn Rovers. Cresswell was taken off with just over 20 minutes to play, while Shackleton played the full 90.

Ian Poveda

Another defeat for one of Leeds’ loanees was for Poveda at Blackpool, who started their 1-0 home loss against in-form Norwich City.

Tyler Roberts

It was a much more successful weekend for Roberts, though, who scored his first Championship goal for QPR. He netted Rangers’ second in an impressive 2-1 win at Bristol City.

Dan James

James was handed his first start for Fulham at the weekend but could do little as Marco Silva’s side were reduced to 10 men after just eight minutes. They went onto lose 4-1 at home to Newcastle United.

Helder Costa

On-loan winger Costa did not feature at the weekend for Al-Ittihad as they were held to a 0-0 draw at Al-Nassr.

Lewis Bate

Bate was handed his third Oxford United start in four matches as he played just over an hour in the 1-1 draw at Charlton Athletic.

Jack Jenkins

For the sixth league match in a row, Jenkins was once again an unused substitute for Salford City in the 1-1 draw with Grimsby Town. He is yet to play a single minute of League Two action since his summer move.

Stuart McKinstry

McKinstry played the final 21 minutes as Motherwell fell to a 2-1 defeat at Celtic. The young Scotsman is still awaiting his first start since returning on loan to the club.

Mateusz Bogusz

Bogusz made his first appearance since suffering a serious knee injury in January, coming off the bench to play 10 minutes in UD Ibiza’s 3-2 win over Lugo.
