Leeds United loan watch as Joe Gelhardt earns praise for role in Sunderland's win at West Brom

Leeds United loanee Joe Gelhardt was singled out for praise during Sunderland's comeback victory at West Brom. The Black Cats remain in contention for playoff spot with a 2-1 win at the Hawthorns on Sunday, courtesy of a brace from Dennis Cirkin.

Gelhardt played 77 minutes of the win which lifts Tony Mowbray's side into the top six, and proved a constant menace as he drew regular fouls from Albion defenders. Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman hailed one passage of play which resulted in a yellow card for Okay Yokuslu as 'brilliant', while also suggesting the 20-year-old might be 'breaking records' for the amount of fouls drawn.

Elsewhere, Daniel James was obviously ineligible to feature against his parent club as Fulham eased to a 2-1 victory over the Whites on Saturday. Diego Llorente will hope to keep his place in the starting eleven as AS Roma return to Serie A action on Monday night against Atalanta.

It is the same story for Cody Drameh, with Luton Town hosting playoff rivals Middlesbrough in an 8pm kick-off. Leo Hjelde was an unused substitute for Rotherham United in their 2-1 away defeat to Bristol City.

Jamie Shackleton did not come off the bench in Millwall's surprise 2-1 loss at Wigan Athletic, with Charlie Cresswell still absent after suffering a fractured eye socket earlier this month. Ian Poveda scored the only goal of the game for Blackpool in their win at Birmingham City which moves them within three points of safety, albeit with an inferior goal difference to Huddersfield Town.

Tyler Roberts was not included in the matchday squad as QPR defied the odds to earn a 2-1 win at already promoted Burnley. Helder Costa was withdrawn in extra-time as Al-Ittihad were knocked out of the semi-final of the King Cup of Champions with a 1-0 loss to Al-Hilal.
