Leeds United loan watch as duo score winning goals while Joe Gelhardt waits on first strike

Leeds United's loanees have been in action once again this weekend as Joe Gelhardt's wait for his first Sunderland goal goes on.

Gelhardt started for the Black Cats during their 1-1 draw with Bristol City at the Stadium of Light. Tony Mowbray's side took the lead just before the hour mark thanks to a superb strike from Jack Clarke.

The Leeds youngster did register an assist for the goal, yet in truth it was Clarke's brilliant footwork and clinical finish that made all the difference. Gelhardt has now gone 30 senior games without scoring, with the 20-year-old looking to correct that when he comes up against Rotherham United on Tuesday evening.

Charlie Cresswell played a full 90 minutes for loan side Millwall as they stunned second-placed Sheffield United in the Championship with a 3-2 win. The defender helped flick on a long free-kick that eventually saw the Lions seal all three points at The Den.

Ian Poveda grabbed the headlines as he scored the only goal of the game during Blackpool's 1-0 win over Stoke City to hand Mick McCarthy his first win as Seasiders boss. The 23-year-old did well to cut inside from the right-wing before his left-footed shot was deflected past Matija Sarkic after just seven minutes had been played.

Another Leeds player grabbed a winning goal, with Alfie McCalmont netting for Carlisle United in their victory over Colchester United.

It was bad news for Cody Drameh, as the Leeds youngster returned from injury to start in Luton Town's 1-0 defeat to league leaders Burnley. However, the right-back only lasted 32 minutes before pulling up with injury and being forced off the pitch.

Lewis Bate was on the pitch for 75 minutes during Oxford United's 1-0 defeat to Cambridge City as the 20-year-old had an uncharacteristic off-day after starring for his loan side in the recent weeks and months.

Elsewhere, Leo Hjelde stayed on the bench for Rotherham's 1-0 defeat to Coventry while Diego Llorente was also an unused substitute during AS Roma's 1-0 defeat to Red Bull Salzburg on Thursday night. Tyler Roberts missed QPR's 3-1 defeat to Middlesbrough through injury and Helder Costa opened the scoring for Al Ittihad during their 3-0 win over Ettifaq in midweek.

Dan James also sat on the sidelines for Fulham's 1-0 win over Brighton; the Leeds loanee has been an unused substitute for the Cottagers last four games in a row. Stuart McKinstry was another Whites star that kept the bench warm as he did not come on during Motherwell's 2-0 win over Hearts.
