Leeds United line-up vs Fulham as errors are reversed with Cooper, Struijk and Harrison back

Reversal is probably the simplest way to sum up the route I would go down if I were in the Leeds United dugout on Sunday. Jesse Marsch made four changes on Thursday night at Leicester City and three would be switched back, for me.

If Pascal Struijk is fit for the match with Fulham, as Marsch hopes, then he has to start at left-back. Junior Firpo again showed deficiencies in his game at King Power Stadium, failing to provide the defensive security the team needed on his flank.

Captain Liam Cooper, who solidified the team with his half-time introduction in the East Midlands, would also come straight back into the side ahead of Diego Llorente on Sunday. The Spain international, though free of direct involvement in the concessions, still looked shaky and exposed time after time.

As impressive and promising as Crysencio Summerville looks in Premier League 2, the young winger is still failing to make an impact at senior level. The 20-year-old had chances, especially in the first half, at Leicester, but failed to test Danny Ward in goal.

While Jack Harrison has recently struggled to convert statistics into match-winning returns, he offers much more experience, physicality and impact in the Leeds press. He played his part in the second-half dominance of Arsenal last weekend.

Everyone else in the team has enough credit in the bank to hold off any rivals for their positions. Patrick Bamford reverted to the rusty, anonymous figurehead we have seen at times in the past few seasons, on Thursday.

However, Rodrigo’s case is not compelling enough to reverse that switch this weekend.

Beren’s XI: Meslier; Kristensen, Koch, Cooper, Struijk; Adams, Roca; Harrison, Aaronson, Sinisterra; Bamford.
