Marsch accepts blame
Jesse Marsch has refused to single out any players for criticism following the horror show in West London. Diego Llorente endured post-match backlash for his poor display in the 5-2 defeat to Brentford.
However, the American insists the blame should lie at his door for the result. Marsch said: “I’m never going to point fingers - point it at the manager. I have to put them in a position to succeed.

“(We have played) some good games and picked-up points, but we know we have more to do. Teams understand what we have to achieve and adjust in matches. We put our centre-backs in tricky positions because of our counter-pressing.”
‘Tough’ James decision
Marsch admits letting Dan James leave after just one season at the club was “tough”. The former Manchester United man was allowed to make a deadline-day move to Fulham on loan and he featured in their 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.
Leeds signed 18-year-old Italian international Willy Gnoto and the Whites’ boss admits room needed freeing up in the squad. After the Brentford defeat, Marsch said: “It was clear that, if we needed to add something, we needed to move someone (on). I hate speaking about it that way because I love DJ and he gave everything to the group.
“When we tried to find the balance in the team, he was garnering the most interest. (It is the) only way we could go out and add a striker. I wish we did not have to do it.
“We discussed it weeks before the deadline about the possibility. (It was) tough at the end because he and his family like it here.”
Frank hails Aaronson
Brentford boss Thomas Frank has heaped praise on Leeds midfielder Thomas Aaronson. The American joined from RB Salzburg - where he previously worked with Marsch - in the summer and has had an eye-catching start to life at Elland Road.
Aaronson set up Luis Sinisterra’s equaliser against Everton in midweek and bagged in the 3-0 win against Chelsea last month. Despite a poor team performance, the 21-year-old did enough to catch the eye of the opposing manager.
“I think they're (Leeds) really good,” Frank said post-match. "With a narrow front four combining and tricky players, good players.
“Aaronson… what a player, what a player. That's a top buy for Leeds. So I think we defended a little bit worse, but also credit to Leeds.”
