Leeds United headlines as Andrea Radrizzani's Sampdoria takeover bid 'did not hit the mark'

Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani continues to be linked with investment in football elsewhere. Now, the latest reports indicate the businessman has seen an approach for Serie A outfit Sampdoria turned down.

Sam Allardyce will be watching through his fingers as today’s Premier League results roll in. The Leeds United head coach will spend the day putting the finishing touches to a game plan that he believes will be enough to see the Whites end their seven-game winless run and breathe life into their hopes of survival when they take on West Ham United on Sunday.

However, he also knows that Leeds could be facing a mountain the size of Everest to climb by the time they kick-off at the London Stadium if results don’t go their way. Jamie Redknapp believes Sam Allardyce could earn his first victory in charge of Leeds United in the crucial upcoming clash at West Ham. The Whites sit a point adrift of safety with just two matches remaining, and know that relegation could be confirmed with defeat in the capital along with results going against them elsewhere.

Leeds ended a six-match losing streak with an improved display in the home draw with Newcastle United last time out. Allardyce was left to rue costly errors in defence with Magpies' number nine Callum Wilson scoring twice from the penalty spot in the 2-2 draw at Elland Road.
