Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours on Friday, 18 February 2022.
Castellanos race
River Plate have reportedly been unable to agree a fee for New York City striker Valentin Castellanos, according to TN Deportivo.
The Argentinian side were said to be keen on Castellanos as a replacement for outgoing striker Julian Alvarez, who departed for Manchester City last month.
That has in turn opened the door for Leeds United, with the Whites interested in a summer move for the 23-year-old providing they stay in the Premier League.
The Whites are reportedly prepared to pay £10 million for Castellanos, who scored 22 goals and provided eight assists in 35 MLS matches last season.
Newcastle ‘agree’ Simon deal
Newcastle United have reportedly agreed a £17 million deal for Nantes winger Moses Simon ahead of the summer.
That is according to Own Goal Nigeria, via HITC, who claim that while the Magpies are prepared to offer him £100,000 a week, Simon is keen on remaining in France beyond the summer.
Leeds United were linked with a move for Simon last month, however they opted against accelerating their interest as Crysencio Summerville remained at the club.
It remains to be seen whether Leeds revisit their interest in the summer, particularly if Marcelo Bielsa is still at the club.
Wallace race
Burnley have joined a flurry of the clubs in the race to sign Millwall attacking midfielder Jed Wallace in the summer.
That is according to The News, who claim that Watford, Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough are all too in the race for his signature.
Wallace is out of contract at Millwall in the summer and at this stage, it does not appear likely that he will be signing a new deal.
Reports emerged last month that Besiktas were interested in securing a pre-contract agreement, however that came to fruition.
