Leeds United’s pursuit of Azzedine Ounahi has stalled due to Angers’ valuation of the Morocco international, with their £25million asking price almost twice what United are willing to pay for the midfielder.
However, United fans are clear the club should do all they can to secure the 22-year-old having voted him their number one transfer priority.
Supporters were asked to put 14 potential January signings in order of priority in our Rank Your Targets poll and Ounahi was an overwhelming winner, collecting twice as many points as his nearest challenger.

That player was Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres who has been attracting plenty of Premier League interest on the back of 31 goals in 75 games.
Gyokeres is out of contract in 2024 and although the official line from the Sky Blues is that he is not for sale, a bid of around £18million might be enough to secure the services of the Swede.
With Leeds having already added Max Wober from Red Bull Salzburg and Georginio Rutter for a club-record £35million, Ounahi and Gyokeres were seen as the only two standout targets by fans.
Wolves winger Adama Traore headed the remaining 12 potential additions but was some way behind Gyokeres. A free agent in the summer he has repeatedly been linked with Leeds though with Wolves also struggling for goals it is unlikely they will part with him this month.
One player who was available in the January window was former Leeds striker Chris Wood who has joined Nottingham Forest on loan. An emotional Elland Road return wasn't high on the agenda for Whites fans, though, with the Newcastle United man placed a lowly 11th when it came to transfer priorities.
However, that still put him ahead of Giannis Konstantelias, with the 19-year-old PAOK prospect finishing rock-bottom in our poll.
