Two pre-season friendlies have been added to Leeds United’s Oslo clash with Manchester United. The Whites will also face Heart of Midlothian and Monaco before their Championship curtain-raiser with Cardiff City.
Leeds are yet to see 49ers Enterprises’ takeover ratified or a head coach appointed, but preparations for the new season have had to move forward with dates for warm-up games. The first crop of players reported for day one of pre-season on Monday with Michael Skubala and Marcos Abad the only surviving first-team coaches from last term.
The match with Erik ten Hag’s Old Trafford outfit takes place in just nine days in the Norwegian capital. The rest of United’s squad, those who have had international commitments, are expected to report back on July 10, two days before the Oslo meeting.

For the second time in seven months, Monaco will face United in the UK. The Ligue 1 outfit will visit York on July 22 for a 4pm kick-off and that should, in theory, see a few more of the senior faces who began pre-season later.
The trip to Tynecastle Park, the Edinburgh home of Hearts, will then follow on July 30. There will be no friendlies at Elland Road this summer due to renovation work on the pitch, but fans will only have to go as far as York Community Stadium for a summer home game.
There is also expected to be more than one friendly played behind closed doors too, as Leeds prepare for Cardiff on August 6.
