Leeds United 'legend' Bamba Dieng on target at World Cup as Senegal dump Qatar out of competition
An impressive strike from Leeds United's summer deadline day target Bamba Dieng helped Senegal past Qatar 3-1, dumping the hosts out of the World Cup.
Dieng was close to moving to Elland Road at the very end of the transfer window, with Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani even tweeting that fans should "welcome" the Senegalese forward to the club.
His deadline day move to Elland Road took a huge twist when he opted to move to Nice instead.

However, despite choosing to sign for Nice, Dieng then failed his medical, meaning he had to remain at Marseille.
It was certainly one of the weirdest deadline day stories of recent times. But football fans haven't forgotten how close Dieng came to signing for Leeds, with plenty of supporters taking to social media following his World Cup strike against Qatar.

'One club he'd leave them for' - David Batty's Leeds United homecoming explained
David Batty's agent and close friend Hayden Evans has lifted the lid on his Leeds United return. The defensive midfielder came through the youth set-up at Elland Road, making over 200 appearances in his first stint with the club.
His time at his boyhood club was cut short in October 1993, with Leeds manager Howard Wilkinson needing funds to finance the rebuilding of his team.
Leeds ultimately sold Batty to Blackburn Rovers before going on to join Newcastle United in 1996. However, the former Leeds midfielder still held the Whites in his heart.
Speaking to ChronicleLive, Evans revealed: "There was only club he would ever have left them [Newcastle] for, really, and that was the chance to come back to Leeds."
Premier League legend heaps praise upon Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams
Former Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Brad Friedel says Tyler Adams is one of his favourite ever players he has coached.
The 51-year-old was in charge of USA U19's back in 2016-17, with the Leeds United midfielder coming through the youth system.
Friedel says it's no surprise to see Adams named as captain of his country at the World Cup, after a player vote in the camp decided who should take the armband.
Writing in his column for the Daily Mail, Friedel said: "Tyler Adams as USA captain? I love this. I love the kid. I really couldn't speak more highly of an individual that I coached than Tyler."
