Leeds United new boys Brenden Aaronson and Tyler Adams have both been rewarded for their fine start to the Premier League campaign with call-ups for the United States. It's exactly two months to the day until the USMNT kick starts their 2022 World Cup camp ahead of Qatar.
Head coach Gregg Berhalter has called 26 players for the USA’s final matches against Japan and Saudi Arabia. The squad will get together in Germany ahead of the clash with fellow World Cup finalists Japan on September 23 at the Düsseldorf Arena in Düsseldorf.
Four days later, the team will be in Murcia, Spain to meet Saudi Arabia on September 27 at the Estadio Nueva Condomina. “As we approach the World Cup, this is another opportunity for us to take a step forward as a group,” Berhalter said. “We have a strong roster and can use these games as a measuring stick against World Cup opponents as we continue to gain valuable experience ahead of going to Qatar.”

Both Adams and Aaronson are expected to make the final squad for the World Cup in Qatar. The US have been pitted in the same group as Wales, England and IR Iran in Group B.
It's arguably one of the toughest groups in the competition with the four sides holding an average rank of 15 according to the August 2022 FIFA World Ranking.
