Leeds United could unleash their newest weapon while chasing another 21-year record vs Tottenham

One change? Who will it be?

Jack Harrison was rated as questionable by Jesse Marsch in his pre-match press conference, so we will wait and see whether the Leeds United winger is fit in the first place. If he doesn’t make it then the change becomes more straightforward for the head coach, but if Harrison’s fit there is a minor dilemma.

The first-team regular has seen a dip in his impact on matches in recent weeks, while Wilfried Gnonto has turned heads from the bench in the last two Premier League matches. Sam Greenwood was also shoehorned into an answer to a Gnonto question by Marsch, which shows how his head is thinking before this one.

End an eight-year wait?

Crysencio Summerville and Rodrigo have each scored in three consecutive appearances for the Whites and the last man to do it in four was Ross McCormack in March 2014, during that incredible Championship campaign he had. The pair are expected to continue in the capital today and will hope their good form carries on.

Take another big-six side all the way?

Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been beaten or heavily outplayed by the Whites this season, despite United’s perceived struggles generally. The Manchester clubs await, but it’s Tottenham’s turn this afternoon and they will look to attack on their own patch.

Antonio Conte’s side will leave space for Leeds to counter and the visitors will have to hope their chaos theory can pay off again against a side that looks to attack. The likes of Gnonto, Brenden Aaronson and Summerville will need to carry the ball well when United’s chances do come to break.

End another 20-plus-year wait?

The Whites ended a 21-year wait to win at Anfield last month and they have an identical situation with Spurs. It was on February 24, 2001 when United went to White Hart Lane and responded to a Les Ferdinand opener by winning 2-1.

An Ian Harte penalty on the stroke of half-time would be followed by a Lee Bowyer winner in the 57th minute. Leeds have visited Spurs on six occasions since and have never returned as victors.

World Cup hopes on the edge?

There has been nothing in any of the matches we have seen from Rasmus Kristensen, Aaronson or Tyler Adams to suggest they will be anything other than full-throttle this afternoon. Everyone is sure to keep an eye on them and ensure they come through unscathed though.
