Leeds United are reportedly one of a host of clubs keen on the loan signing of Manchester City starlet James McAtee. The Whites, along with several Premier League and Championship sides, are keeping an eye on his situation with City thought to be open to sending him out on loan this season.
Ever since news broke of City’s interest in Kalvin Phillips back in June, Leeds have often been mentioned as keen on doing a deal for McAtee. Of course, Phillips completed his switch to the Premier League champions last month but with City undecided on the future of McAtee, Leeds swooped for midfielder Darko Gyabi.
Reports claimed earlier in the window that Leeds were looking to do a permanent deal for McAtee, however he still remains one of City’s most talented youth prospects. Instead, City may now be open to loaning him out in order to gain some first team experience which could have Leeds on red alert.

However, with Championship clubs able to guarantee him more regular minutes, Leeds could be about to lose out on his signature to Sheffield United. Speaking to Yorkshire Live, Blades boss Paul Heckingbottom refused to be drawn into discussing details of the deal but did reveal that he is a player they are aware of due to the level of quality he has.
He said: "He's not our player, but he's someone who we know, who I have seen play and who lots of people have seen play, whether it's been moments for City or for England.
“But yeah, he's a good player. He handles the ball fantastic, he has good quality on the ball. That's why he's at Man City."
