Leeds United could be without five first team players for Liverpool clash

Jesse Marsch has revealed he has doubts over the fitness of five key first-team players - with three other long-term absentees still sidelined.

Marsch's Leeds United come to Anfield on Saturday evening, winless in their last eight matches and sitting in the bottom three of the Premier League. The American coach has come under increasing pressure regarding his future, with defeats against Leicester City and Fulham in the past week condemning the Whites to another likely relegation scrap.

And to add further to the problems in West Yorkshire, Leeds could be without as many as eight players for Saturday's game. Long-term absentees Stuart Dallas and Adam Forshaw remain sidelined with Leo Hjelde, but Marsch has since revealed that he harbours doubts over the fitness of key quintet Luis Sinisterra, Rodrigo Moreno, Tyler Adams, Joe Gelhardt and Liam Cooper.

Speaking to the media earlier this afternoon, Marsch said: "Injuries, Stuart and Adam are still out. In addition, questionable are Leo Hjelde, after his appendectomy, and then Joffy [Joe Gelhardt] , Rodri [Rodrigo] , Luis [Sinisterra], Liam [Cooper] and Tyler [Adams] are all a little bit in question. We'll see how the next 48 hours go for all of those players."

The absence of top-scorer Rodrigo could be of particular importance to Leeds, with Patrick Bamford yet to find form and fitness following a long spell out injured. The Spanish forward has five goals in the league so far and scored last time out against Fulham.

American midfielder Adams was also crucial to Leeds' early-season success, and his absence during last weekend's defeat was sorely felt. Luis Sinisterra and Joe Gelhardt - a boyhood Liverpool fan who admired Fernando Torres - have both added a dynamism to an otherwise stale Whites attack.
