Leeds United have announced the signing of Joel Robles. The experienced goalkeeper has penned a one-year deal at Elland Road.
The former Everton and Atletico Madrid stopper will provide competition for Illan Meslier and Kristoffer Klaesson. Robles could be seen as a direct replacement for Kiko Casilla, who left Leeds by mutual consent last month.
The 32-year-old has returned to the Premier League after four years away. The Spaniard had spells with Wigan and Everton between 2013 and 2018. Robles won the 2013 FA Cup during his loan spell with Wigan, keeping a clean sheet in their famous 1-0 win over Manchester City in the final.

During his time at Everton, Robles mostly played second fiddle to Tim Howard, although he did enjoy spells as the number one. Across his spells at Wigan and the Toffees, Robles has made 51 Premier League appearances, keeping 18 clean sheets.
Robles was released by Real Betis at the end of last season, where he made 56 appearances.
Robles has become the Whites' seventh signing of the summer window. Rasmus Kristensen, Brenden Aaronson, Marc Roca, Tyler Adams, Darko Gyabi and Luis Sinisterra have also joined the club. Leeds also signed youngster Sonny Perkins following his release from West Ham United, but he has linked up with the Whites' Under-21s squad.
