Leeds United confirm plans for Marcelo Bielsa's successor announcement after sacking head coach

Marcelo Bielsa’s successor will be named as soon as tomorrow if Leeds United’s plan goes ahead in the next 24 hours.

On Sunday morning, confirmation of the head coach’s sacking finally came after a winless run of six matches with 20 goals conceded in the last five outings.

Andrea Radrizzani said it was the hardest decision he has had to make since taking over at Elland Road, but felt the club’s position was too precarious to carry on.

With 12 matches to turn the club’s fortunes around they plan to move quickly in order to give a successor as much time as possible before the Leicester City trip on Saturday.

Earlier this month, Jesse Marsch emerged as the number one target according to The Telegraph and with the American out of work, he looks a strong bet to be the new man in the dugout.

The club have yet to confirm the fate of Bielsa’s backroom team, but the likes of Pablo Quiroga and Diego Reyes have moved between jobs with Bielsa for years.
