Leeds United confirm midfielder's loan exit with the transfer window into its final week

Jack Jenkins has departed Leeds United for Salford City in League Two on loan for the rest of the season. The 20-year-old’s one senior appearance came under Marcelo Bielsa at Crawley Town in the FA Cup exit of January 2021.

Jenkins, an under-23 regular for the past few seasons, signed a new Leeds deal last September with terms running to the summer of 2024. He now needs a bigger challenge to see where his development can take him before that deal expires.

Last season, only Nohan Kenneh and Kristoffer Klaesson played more minutes for the under-23s than Jenkins in Premier League 2 Division One. With under-21 football not perhaps the test he needs, League Two football awaits.
